Professor B.O. Yessimov is an author of more than 400 research works including 70 patents and certificates of authorship as well as 3 monographs and 8 practical training guide books.

Research interests – experimental mineralogy, technical petrography, technologies and raw-mineral resources of silicate materials. Professor Yessimov in his scientific and research work:

  • discovered a new genetic type of bismuth deposit;
  • experimentally discovered the nature of the formation of ferromagnetic phases in the process of thermal exposure;
  • theoretically predicted and experimentally confirmed conditions of chromospinelides’ crystallization;
  • demonstrated the possibility silica liquation from fiery liquid flux;
  • developed previously unknown conditions of synthesis of one of the controversial alkali aluminosilicates – jadeite;
  • contributed to the establishment of stone casting in Kazakhstan and Central Asia;
  • found special dielectric glassceramics on the basis of wollastonite skarn;
  • developed and implemented original foundry facing for rockets launched on Baikonur space shuttle, resistant to gas-dynamic shocks occurring during the start of the rockets;
  • for the first time synthesized high-quality acid resistant wares on the basis of previously untested composition of “refractory clays+ industrial waste”.

Author’s most significant scientific article

  • “Geological, mineral and technological perspectives of developing industrial, technical, mineral and raw material recourses of South Kazakhstan region”, practically implemented during 2009-2011 by means of the state scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan on fundamental scientific research.

Prof. Dr. Abdeslam HOUMMADA

Physics

Born in 1955, in Taza Morocco, Dr. Abdeslam HOUMMADA obtained my Ph. D degree in 1985 in the field of nuclear and high energy physics. He worked at the University of Grenoble from 1982 to 1985 as Assistant professor of Physics. Afterwards, he was often an invited professor at the same University. He is currently professor at the HASSANII University of Casablanca and Scientific Director at the HASSAN II Academy of Science and Technology. His major fields of interest are Neutrinos Physics and Higgs research at the ATLAS experiment in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) of the CERN. He is the team leader of the Moroccan physicists, “High Energy Physics Cluster”, working in the ATLAS experiment since 1996, after setting up a cooperation agreement with the CERN and ATLAS. In 1996 Morocco was the first Arab and African country, officially participating to an experiment in LHC. Dr. Abdeslam HOUMMADA conducted the construction, in Morocco from 1998 to 2004 of an element of electromagnet calorimeter (presampler) of ATLAS. This year, 2012, is marked by the discovery of Higgs Boson; for which his contribution since 1992, was largely recognized and visible.

In Neutrino Physics his contribution to the study of this enigmatic particle is the publication in 1985 and 1995, of aneutrino oscillations effect observed in the Bugey experiment and also in the Laue Langevin Institute experiment, which is known actually as “Neutrino reactor anomaly”.

Up to now he has published about 280 International indexed publications and 6 research books on high energy physics and ATLAS experiment. For more details
