Facilties
- Testing Facilities provided to Industry: Testing facilities are provided to textile industry/exporting agencies by rapid testing of their material from fiber to fabric. Training Facilities: Imparting practical training to personnel engaged in local Industry, trade, government agencies, foreign scholars and degree students of the universities, such as Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Textile Institute of Pakistan.
Objectives
`- To conduct fundamental and applied research on cotton fibre, yarn, cloth, cotton seeds and on processing of cotton fibre with a view to optimum utilisation of Pakistani cotton. - To provide facilities for scientific evaluation of the fibre properties and yarn characteristics of the improved varieties of cotton evolved at various breeding stations and to compare their performance with the established varieties. - To carry out fibre and spinning testing on the trade varieties, disseminate the technological information to the trade and industry and provide training facilities to local as well as foreign students - Provide test house facilities for the benefit of trade, industry and exporting agencies.

Functions
- Research: Fundamental and applied research on cotton fiber, yarn, cloth, cottonseed and their processing technology. - Help to Cotton Breeders: Testing facilities are provided to cotton breeders and researchers in evaluating various varieties of cotton at development stage, particularly where testing facilities are not available. - Quality Survey of Pakistan Cotton: Comprehensive data of fiber characteristics and spinning performance of different varieties of cotton is published annually. This report provides useful information to growers, ginners, textile industry, exporters and researchers. - Testing Facilities provided to Industry.

Description
The Pakistan Central Cotton Committee (PCCC) emerged as incorporated institution on the national horizon in 1948 with the objective to bring improvement in growing, marketing and manufacturing of cotton and cotton by-products through an extensive programme of Research and Development (R&D) in all its conceivable aspects. For this purpose a chain of Research Institutes/Stations/Sub-stations has been set up by PCCC all over the country to undertake research of fundamental as well as applied nature on cotton. There is also a Directorate for Marketing and Economic Research on cotton, its products and by-products.
